The Mariners took part in their first outdoor activity since the start of the COVID-19 restrictions this Sunday with a successful trip to the BSUK national baseball facilities at Farnham Park.

Split over two sessions and with the Mariners coaching team on hand, players made the most of the opportunity to hone their swing, get their eye in and get some wood on the ball.

Given the challenges to normal baseball activities that COVID-19 has presented it was hugely encouraging that the session was successfully run observing all current guidance and restrictions, with everyone involved doing their part to make the event as safe as possible.

The day was greatly enjoyed by all who took part, proving valuable for both the players and coaching team as the club prepares for the potential start of the BBF Open Tournament at the beginning of August.

The club would like to thank BSUK for the use of their facilities, in particular the ever helpful Events & Facilities Manager, Sam Haslam – we will be back!
